MDS Group is an HSE-approved Licensed Asbestos Removal Contractor (LARC) currently holding a full 3-year asbestos removal licence—the highest duration granted by the Health and Safety Executive. This licence empowers us to safely undertake works with all forms of asbestos-containing materials, ensuring complete legal compliance and public safety.
Our Removal Services
Licensed Asbestos Removal
High-risk materials such as asbestos insulation, sprayed coatings (limpet), and asbestos insulating board (AIB) require a fully licensed contractor. Our specialized teams construct highly secure enclosures, utilize positive-pressure air monitoring, negative pressure units (NPUs), and mobile decontamination facilities. Every project is planned with meticulous precision, generating a site-specific Plan of Work (PoW) submitted to the HSE before execution.
Notifiable Non-Licensed Work (NNLW)
Certain asbestos removal tasks, while not requiring a full licence, are deemed significant enough to require notification to the relevant enforcing authority (e.g. the HSE or Local Authority) before work begins. This includes large-scale removal of textured coatings where the material is highly degraded, or the removal of asbestos paper. We manage the entire notification process, ensuring all safety measures and air testing are executed to LARC standards.
Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal
Lower-risk ACMs, such as asbestos cement roofing sheets, rainwater gutters, vinyl floor tiles, and textured coatings (Artex) in good condition, can legally be removed without an HSE licence. However, these works must still comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations. MDS Group applies our industry-leading health, safety, and environmental practices to these tasks, providing complete containment, proper dust suppression, and certified disposal, ensuring zero contamination remains.
